Hi, I couldn't see if anyone had posted yet for Deliver us from Evie. This book is different from any book I have read before. I think it is interesting for a children's book to talk about something like homosexuality, considering it is still a controversial topic. I like that it is written from the perspective of the younger brother. It leaves a hit of mystery about Evie. I'm only on chapter 11, so not much has happened. There has been some for shadowing about Evie and Patty's relationship. I'm still not sure, but I think it is leaning in the direction of more than just "friends". I will be interested to finish this book.

well it has been quite some time since we have had to create a post for a book that we have read so i am going to back and talk a little about star girl. i really did enjoy this book it was funny/inspiring to me however, that someone could be so careless about what others thought about them. star girl was really just her own person and she was totally fine with that. i also liked that people took interest in just how confident she was, especially in the begining when they thought that she had to be hired from a tv station, because they just did not see why someone would act out like she did on purpose. the book over all i thought just really had good points behind it and the laguage and story really pulled you in!

i'm really sorry that i didn't post the blog in time even though i'm the lead blogger. i have been super busy with everything. i apologize for being so late. but anyway, about "deliver us from evie" i think that it relates to reality a lot. there are a lot of people out there who knows what they are, but just don't want to say anything until they are ready. a lot of the students may not find this reading interesting, but i do. just because i have a friend who was afraid to come out about what he really is. everyone suspected it, but didn't want to mention anything about it until he moved to s.f. after he moved there was when everyone started saying how they knew he was gay. i think that evie is a very strong woman to be able to take in all the crap everyone gives her.
